God and Numbers

Why is it that God doesn’t understand numbers? He sent a single messenger after hundreds of years to deliver a message to less than 1% of the world’s population 2000 years ago? I think people today just don’t get numbers, especially when they’re very large numbers. For example, Christians make up maybe a bit more than 20% of the world’s population. Muslims roughly 20%. Which leaves an astonishingly large, 60% of the world unaccounted for. But that never stopped the “chosen” few from claiming moral authority over the other 80%.

Here’s a really important question, and nobody seems to know the answer: Why would God send a messenger (Moses, Noah, Abraham, Muhammad, Jesus, etc.) thousands of years ago, where they would have the least impact? Many Christians and Muslims would be proud of the fact that they’ve conquered or converted 1/5th of the world’s population. But 2000 years later, only 20%?

Last time I was in high school, anything less than 60% was failure.
